Work Your Package™ – Knowledge

Work Your Package logo_v9Knowledge—Make a point to learn something new every day and share it with others.

To know what you know and what you do not know, that is true knowledge. ~ Confucius

Let that sink in for a minute. Knowing that you don’t know is true knowledge. Learning something new everyday will push you out of your comfort zone. The result of leaving your comfort zone is growth. When you grow, you are more likely to learn something new which will push you further…do you see where I’m going with this?

There are dozens of websites available you can subscribe to receive daily tidbits of information. For example, Wikipedia offers a “featured article” list that randomly chooses an article everyday from it’s huge archive of articles. Is there a home improvement project that you want to tackle but don’t have a clue how to get started? There are over a half a million videos (with numbers increasing everyday) posted on YouTube™. Want to further your understanding of psychology or brush up on accounting? There are college courses available for free, many from Ivy League schools such as Harvard, Columbia, Princeton and Yale just to name a few.

Are you already taking the time to educate yourself every day? Often times I find that the best part of learning something new is sharing what I’ve learned with others (I’m a Maven for a reason). When you share what you know, it encourages a conversation and a reciprocal exchange of information. It’s a win-win for everyone.
