Before I get into this week’s post, I will share with you that last week, the days, hours and minutes totally got away from me. I was preparing to coordinate a formal wedding with 200 guests. In my role of wedding coordinator, it was my responsibility to set up the reception venue, be at the church before the bridal party arrived, do last-minute preparations at the reception venue before the guests arrived and clean up after the reception was over. And while the mother of the bride is a coordinator as well, she trusted me to put all of the pieces together to create the dream wedding she had envisioned for her daughter for the last two years. To say I felt honored would be an understatement. Enough about me, let’s get to the word of the week…UNIQUE!!!
Unique—From the top of your head to the sole of your feet there is absolutely no one like you.
There is no one on this earth equipped to deliver the gift that you have the responsibility of giving to the world. Many people may have the same talent but no one has the same gift. Think about the times you’ve heard, “How did you come up with that?” or “I would have never thought to do it that way?” People aren’t blowing smoke when they ask those questions. They really don’t know how you did what you did and they will never be able to duplicate it. Your gifts are as unique as your fingerprints and the number of hairs on your head. Embrace your uniqueness and make it part of your personal brand. What do you hear people saying about you the most? It’s probably the one or few things that make you truly unique. When you begin to doubt yourself, remember there is someone looking at you and your unique gift and they think you are just amazing. However, there will be some people you encounter that will try their absolute best to make you believe that your gift is insignificant. When that happens, remember this:
EMBRACE BEING UNIQUE EVEN IF IT MAKES OTHERS UNCOMFORTABLE.
