Original—Plenty of people have the same talent. It’s the delivery of that talent that makes you an original.
Did you know that there has been 26 women that have hosted a talk show? Which one sticks out in your mind first? I’m willing to bet Oprah Winfrey. She might not have been the first or the last woman to host a talk show, but there will always be only one Oprah.
Imitation might be the best form of flattery but it doesn’t allow who you present yourself to world in a way that accurately shows your natural talents and gifts. Think about a time when you had an idea/vision/thought that you took time to plan and execute. Think about how happy you were when you completed it. The feeling of euphoria wasn’t because you completed the project it was because you were able to see a physical manifestation of your creativity. I had that feeling of bliss when I completed redecorated my daughter’s room while they were visiting with family. Was it a lot of work? Yes. Did I grin ear to ear when I finished? Absolutely. It was the vision I had in my head. I know there are hundreds of pictures on the internet with this color scheme but this room is unique to the vision I had and therefore makes it original.
I encourage you to embrace your originality and display it creatively whenever and wherever you can.
